The Count Down is REALLY On!

Now it's just a week before we'll get to meet this little fella we've been dreaming so much about! Although my due date is Saturday, September 3rd, the doctors are going to induce labor next Thursday, September 1st if the baby hasn't come on his own by then. He weighs about 6 1/2 lbs now and we keep hearing about how long his legs are. I have weekly ultrasounds because I have gestational diabetes and he gets measured every other week. These past two weeks he only gained a few ounces instead of the pound he should've gained, so I'm glad we are going through with the induction.

He is a very active baby and moves all the time. The past few nights he's had the hiccups. It is the weirdest feeling. I read somewhere that hiccups were normal and even healthy because that means that they are practicing their breathing, which I never realized they do in utero until recently. He swallows the amniotic fluid which causes him to have the hiccups.

We'll be sure to post his picture as soon as we can after his arrival. And we look forward to him meeting all of you very soon!

The Count Down is On...

Just a little over 5 weeks and our little boy should make his grand entrance! We are busy preparing for his arrival and are counting down the days...well, still weeks at this point, but it won't be long! I'm new at this blogging thing, but I'll try to post some of his first pictures, taken while in utero.
