There are some things about my life right now that I'm just not lovin' so much. But then again, there are also lots of things that I am lovin'! So I decided to do a post on the things that are making me happy these days:
John and life with him.
Spending days at home with John David, being able to experience everyday things everyday with him. This particular day we were bringing to life one of his favorite bedtime stories, The Little Hero of Holland, with the homemade play dough we made together this winter.
The discovery of Molly's Blog and how she inspires me. Still loving Soule Mama's Blog and Five Sweet Peas too. Don't personally know any of these women but I love their outlooks on life.
Summer suppers and the tip from the lady doing the demonstrations in Publix: put aluminum foil on the G. Foreman Grill before cooking and clean-up is a snap!
Reading books again and finding some that are thought provoking, namely, "Dumbing Us Down; The Hidden Curriculum of Compulsory Education" and "Omnivore's Dilemma". I didn't get to finish the second one before it was due back at the library and I couldn't renew it because it was on request for another card holder. Library card, that is. I'm looking forward to reading a book at the beach this weekend that shouldn't be nearly so thought-provoking as these. I'll be reading "Mademoiselle Boleyn ". I'll be reading a book this weekend because I'm going on a girl's trip to the beach with two friends and we are leaving the men and children at home! I'll miss John and John David but I'm also looking forward to the time with old friends.
The thought of pumpkins this fall and John David's excitement about them.
The serenity that a little time working in the garden gives me. 
Cooking summer suppers from our garden - this was the first squash of the season (got the seeds in a little late) and it was yummy! 
The new perspective I have and the new friends too, after my first project with The Friendship Force came to fruition. Twenty English Teachers from The Friendship Force of Jakarta, Indonesia spent three weeks in the U.S. participating in a Professional Development Program that included time at Anderson University and home hosting with The Friendship Force of Lake Hartwell, GA and The Friendship Force of Charlotte, NC. I work part-time (10-15 hours/week from home) as an Educational Project Coordinator for The Friendship Force. I probably need to devote a full post to my job and the experience with the Indonesians but not tonight! They were all so friendly and appreciative of the opportunity - and dear, dear people!
To God be the glory for all these blessings in my life.
